A Message from the Author:

The writing of this book has been a dream of mine for years, but the timing was never right—until now. I feel as though God is now saying, “This is the time and season to pursue this endeavor.” This book comes out of a desire of mine to hear other women’s stories about their struggles, pitfalls, accomplishments, and joys of being in ministry with their husbands, as well as share my own experiences and lessons learned. Women from various backgrounds have willingly shared their experience as First Ladies.

It’s a book that details the honor, privilege, and sacrifices made in serving God’s people as a First Lady. This is not a “How to dress” book, nor one on etiquette or good manners. This is a book that does not romanticize, but instead endeavors to demystify this position.

Oh, and by the way, in case you’re wondering about the title—thinking I spelled Along wrong—wonder no more. The use of the word Alone is not a mistake. I deliberately used the word Alone to reflect both my journey as a Pastor’s wife—sometimes feeling alone—as well as many women who stand in the position of “women married to men in ministry.”

Maybe you are not a First Lady, but you know one. Share this powerful book with a First Lady you know, or use it in a pastors’ wives’ group.

I believe that you and she will be blessed.

Lessons Learned Alone the Way is Donna's first book.
